Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, wey dey represent Kogi Central, don yan say she no go waka enter All Progressives Congress (APC), even though people wey dey connected to Presidency and some of her colleagues don dey try persuade her.
For one interview on Mic On Podcast, Natasha clear say, despite di wahala wey dey inside Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), she still dey loyal to her party and no dey plan to switch camps anytime soon.
“I No Need Follow Bandwagon”
When interviewer ask her if she fit join APC if PDP wahala continue, she yan say “No, I no go join APC. I dey happy for my space, I like my peace. I no need follow bandwagon, I no go dey follow anybody push me.”
She come add say she don dey approached plenty times by people wey wan make she move to APC. Some of dem dey joke dey tell her say, “We dey wait for you, we go like make you join us.” But she remain firm, say she dey comfortable for PDP.
Political Future Still Under Discussion
Akpoti-Uduaghan, wey be first-term senator for 10th National Assembly, talk say dem still dey discuss her re-election bid for 2027, but nothing don final yet. She yan: “Yes, conversation dey go on, but e never sure.”
She also talk about speculation say former Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello, fit contest Kogi Central senatorial seat in 2027. But she no dey fear am. She yan: “If I decide to contest and PDP never fix their matter, I fit choose another platform, and my people go follow me. I no dey scared of Yahaya Bello. I be im nightmare. Even when e be governor, e use all power against me, but I still beat him candidate for 2023.”
She Don Already Show PDP Loyalty
Natasha win her Kogi Central seat for 2023 on PDP platform. Dem first declare APC candidate, Abubakar Sadiku-Ohere, win, but she challenge am. After tribunal case, she come get seat with 54,074 votes against Ohere wey get 51,291 votes.
Despite PDP still get leadership wahala, Natasha say if she decide to contest in 2027, she fit quickly choose another platform, but for now, she still loyal to PDP and no plan to waka go APC.
