Dangote Refinery to stop fuel scarcity

Africa’s richest man and Dangote Refinery chairman, Aliko Dangote, don talk say the days of fuel queues for Nigeria don end finally.

After im meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for Aso Villa on Friday, Dangote tell State House reporters say for the first time, the refinery dey supply fuel go Europe and the US. Im also talk say dem don write to the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) to notify dem say the refinery fit supply 50 million litres of petrol every day for Nigerians.

Dangote talk say the meeting wey im get with the President na normal discussion about economy, environment and other sectors—something wey dem dey do from time to time.

According to am:

For Nigeria, fuel queue don start since 1972. But we don finally comot those queues. No be to dey depend on import again. For the first time, na we dey supply Europe and US. Today, we don write NMDPRA confirm say we fit supply 50 million litres every day.

He still talk say even while dem dey service the refinery, queues no show.

So fuel queue matter don enter history. E no go happen again by God’s grace.

Dangote still add say neighbouring countries no go get queues again because dem fit buy fuel from Nigeria, officially. By February, Nigeria go dey produce 15 to 20 million litres pass wetin the country dey consume, so dem go still export.

He also yarn say by 2028, the refinery go become the biggest in the whole world:

Reliance dey do 1.25 million barrels per day. We go reach 1.4 million barrels per day. We don sign everything, piling go start before end of January and e go deliver on time.

On fertilizer matter, Dangote talk say Nigeria go soon dey supply the entire African continent:

Him say them go produce 12 million tons of urea, bigger than Russia, bigger than Qatar.

He still talk say fuel price dey drop because dem must compete with imported products, and smuggling don reduce even though e never stop totally.

Nigeria price na like 55% of wetin neighbouring countries dey sell. Even if you police border tire, smuggling go still try. But diesel and petrol go continue to dey sold for better price. We no dey rush collect our $20 billion back, na long-term investment.

Dangote talk say the legacy wey him wan leave na to make sure say anything Nigeria need—power, minerals, fuel, fertilizer, Dangote Group go dey involved.
