Five people don die for Ogun road crash

Two separate road accidents wey happen for Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and Sango-Ijoko Road on Wednesday don kill five people and injure three others.

Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE) spokesperson, Babatunde Akinbiyi, talk say first crash happen for Sango-Ijoko Road around 6 a.m. when truck overtake another vehicle anyhow and jam tricycle wey get six passengers. Three people die, three others get injuries.

Akinbiyi explain say, “Na MAN Diesel truck with number plate FST 424 XZ jam TVS tricycle with number plate AYE 795 VC. Wrongful overtaking and dangerous driving by the truck driver cause head-on crash with six people for tricycle. Seven people dey involved, three don die, three others dey injured.”

Two injured people don carry go Faith Hospital, Ogba-Ayo, while one person dey Babcock Hospital, Ilisan. TRACE operatives don clear road, traffic don normal again.

For another crash, Ogun FRSC spokesperson, Afolabi Odunsi, talk say two people die when two trucks jam for Ibafo area of Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. Odunsi blame accident on brake failure and speeding. Four people dey involved, two die, no injury. Vehicles na two unregistered Mack trailers. Victim wey dem carry go AZ Hospital, Magboro, later die. FRSC and police don manage road till vehicles remove.

As yuletide dey near, more road crash dey happen, people dey fear for road safety. Between January and September 2025, at least 87 people don die for 1,006 accidents for Lagos alone. Road safety officers dey warn say “Ember Months” dey get more crashes because of reckless driving, alcohol, and night hazards.
