Atiku words na response to wetin Presidential Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, talk for Arise News on Monday. Onanuga bin explain how DSS and the military take track the kidnappers for real time and make contact with them before dem release the girls without paying ransom.
According to Onanuga, security people get all the intelligence wey dem need, but dem dey careful because the bandits dey operate near areas wey civilians dey live. Him talk say dem no fit just go bomb everywhere because innocent people fit die.
But Atiku no gree that kind explanation. He call am “shameful attempt to paint national embarrassment like government victory”. According to am, if DSS and military really fit track the kidnappers and dey talk to them as government claim, the question be simple: why dem no arrest or neutralise the criminals immediately?
Atiku ask why government dey boast say dem talk to criminals instead of stopping them once and for all. He question why kidnapping for Nigeria don turn to normal phone call matter between terrorists and government officials.
He add say the whole situation dey show say “terrorists and bandits don turn alternative government—dem dey negotiate, collect ransom, and waka go back forest untouched, while presidency dey clap for them like achievement.”
Atiku talk say no serious country dey congratulate itself for negotiating with criminals wey dem claim say dem dey monitor. According to am, responsible nations dey move fast to stop kidnappers, no be to allow them go back to plan another attack.
The abduction sef happen on November 17, when armed men storm Government Girls’ Secondary School for Maga, Kebbi State. Dem k!ll one staff member and carry 25 students from their dormitory. One girl later escape almost immediately, leaving 24 for captivity until their release on Tuesday.
President Tinubu later react through statement wey Onanuga release, talk say he dey happy say all 24 girls don come back. He praise security agencies and talk say more boots suppose enter troubled areas to rescue others still in captivity.
Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, also confirm say no ransom enter the matter. According to am, na coordinated action by security operatives make the release possible.
